Hostels and Excitement

Standard

Gosh, I’m really excited about Bangkok now. 🙂 I’ve been doing a lot of stuff for preparation but I just can’t find the nudge to write what I’ve been up to lately in here. x))

Oh well.

So! I’ve been looking for hostels to stay in. I found this really cute place called Room@Bangkok Bed and Breakfast that is really quirkily decorated and which I’m loving to bits. I hope I could get to stay in there. <:D Hostel authority Hostelworld is the best website to check out hostels all over the world – up-to-date reviews and ratings included.

I changed my mind; I don’t think I’ll be staying at Queen’s Imperial Park Hotel anymore. When I thought about it, 2000 baht per night is just too expensive, man. So I opted to go for hostels instead because according to this website I read (Nomadic Matt), hostels give you more opportunities to meet new people and travelers. So that’s really good. 🙂 I’m convinced; hostels are in. Check out this article on Nomadic Matt called Why I Left a Four Seasons and Moved Into a Hostel.

I’ve also started getting intellectually prepared. Yes, I just started. But I believe nothing’s impossible if you’re persevering.

Rock n roll. 🙂

Seeing young people do amazingly inspiring things and seeing people who actually do make a difference in their communities – like, real difference – just inspires me back. Lately I’ve become a bit cynical about change and changemaking, but I guess changemaking is like love. “Do not be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.”

So here’s to the youth of Armenia! Check out how they celebrated International Youth Day last August 12, 2012. Flash mob, anyone? Now that’s what I call a fuh-lash mob!!! 🙂

Ex-Ex-Excited

Status

Whoooo. Ah, I’m really excited about the trip already. <:’)

I’m currently doing some application stuff right now. Doing budgeting, checking out places, going on Google maps, and reading all these travel forums are psyching me up. <:’D

I really do hope God will put everything in place…and that He will give me the grace to do all the preparations on time. Go Lord! Go CC. :3 ♥

Almost!

Standard

Okay, all. So…I almost decided to call off the trip altogether because –

  1. I wanted to go with my friends’ Malaysia tour this December in, well, Malaysia (they were also gonna attend a conference there)
  2. I back-slided because of all the things happening in my life right now.

But I’m okay now. APMUN is definitely staying. I checked out the site of the conference in Malaysia and I figured: I wanted to go to APMUN more. Malaysia was pretty expensive; the conference fee is $250 plus we had to pay for everything ourselves. I don’t want my parents to pay for that…they deserve better. The thought of visiting Sofia in Malaysia is really tempting, but I guess there has to be a time for everything. Hey, I’ll visit Cris and the other changemakers in Manila, right? Plus, I could also go and see Chin in Manila; I know that would be great as well. ^__^

I’m gonna be thinking of ways to fundraise for accommodation, food, local travel, etc. now.

All of these engagements are really challenging. Action Club and all. A rollercoaster. I’m up and down. Thank goodness I’m up again right now. My Action Club team members’ enthusiasm is very inspiring. The thought of Thailand is very inspiring. I just hope everything will fall into place at the right time.

Drooling

I just received an e-mail from the APMUN Secretariat informing me about the discounted hotel package the APMUN was able to agree upon with the Imperial Queen’s Park Hotel! (Check out the APMUN’s website announcement here.) I am just at awe with the awesome arrangements the APMUN was able to make! I hope my future planning for hotel bookings will turn out well.

Check out the Imperial Queen’s’ website here and a sneak-peak of its website below.

Here are some really cool things I was able to appreciate about the hotel room’s benefits:

  • complimentary Internet use
  • complimentary use of swimming pool
  • personal safe deposit box in rooms
  • buffet breakfast
  • transportation benefit (meaning a shuttle will hopefully be provided to transfer delegates one-way to the APMUN venue) given that a minimum of 30 people will book in the Imperial Queen’s.

Therefore, packing a swimsuit might be a good idea. x)) Swimming! Yay. :DDD

I am all but up for every future APMUN challenge now, thanks to God’s grace. Nighty! ♥
